Holy Week & Easter 2025
April 13 - 20

You are welcome this Holy Week and Easter!

This is both the most solemn and the most joyous week of the Church Year. Our attention is focused on the suffering, dying, and rising from the dead of Jesus Christ. As we follow our Lord’s journey to the Cross, we ourselves enter into the power and significance of his death and resurrection, not as bystanders, but as participants. The Holy Week Booklet is your guide to the many services which take place. Bulletins for upcoming services will be updated soon. There are several family friendly services and activities through the week — all are welcome to pray, sing, and celebrate with us!

12 noon — 3 pm Seven Last Words

Known as the ‘Three Hour Service’, the beautiful music sung by our choir and the hymns in which we will all join reflect the solemnity of this holy day, interwoven with meditations on the seven last ‘words’ or ‘sayings’ of Christ. Meditations will be offered by Drew Badgley, this year's Good Friday missioner.

This is a very ancient and moving celebration of the Christian Church. Maundy Thursday
April 17

8 am Morning Prayer
5:30 pm Evening Prayer
7 pm Choral Holy Communion

We meet to commemorate the institution of the Holy Eucharist at the Last Supper Jesus held with his chosen disciples. The Holy Communion is preceded by the ceremony of Foot Washing, as twelve members of the congregation come forward to have their feet washed. “Maundy” is an old English form of the Latin word “mandatum”, which means “commandment”. The name “Maundy Thursday” recollects the words of Jesus just after he had washed the feet of his apostles: “A new commandment I give unto you, that you love one another.”

Followed by all-night vigil.
