Palm Sunday 2014

Entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, Gustav Doré
Entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, Gustav Doré

We start Palm Sunday at 9:30am with a procession around the neighbourhood, singing hymns and waving palms.  We are fortunate to be joined again this year by Cornwallis Street Baptist Church and St Patrick’s Catholic Church, and we will also include a stop at the Little Dutch Church, which housed the congregation of the Parish of Saint George until the Round Church was built in 1800.

Almighty and everlasting God, who, of thy tender love towards mankind, hast sent thy Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ, to take upon him our flesh, and to suffer death upon the cross, that all mankind should follow the example of his great humility: Mercifully grant, that we may both follow the example of his patience, and also be made partakers of his resurrection; through the same Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
