Pre-Ordination Quiet day at the King’s College Chapel

October 6, 2015 at 11:19 am

Dr Wayne Hankey will give three addresses in the King’s College Chapel to assist Nicholas Hatt, Dean of Students at King’s College and faithful member of our parish family, to prepare for his ordination as Deacon on 28 October (7pm, All Saints’ Cathedral).

The Quiet Day will be a Meditation on the Holy Spirit from Whom the Orders in the Church come.

The fundamental text will be Genesis I and the interpretative key will be I.2: The Earth was without form and void and darkness was upon the face of the deep and the Spirit of God moved on the face of the waters. Scripture for the Day will be Genesis I and passages from John’s Gospel, Romans and Philippians. Readings (from Augustine and Aquinas) are available below.

Aquinas – The Sending of the Holy Spirit (pdf)

Augustine – Confessions, Book XIII (pdf)
