The choir prepares to lead the Palm Sunday procession

The Parish Choir (ages 15 and up): Saint George’s Parish Choir is faithfully served by volunteer singers and paid section leaders, all of whom bring considerable experience, skill and passion to their art. The choir’s repertoire is inspired by the English Cathedral tradition, from William Byrd to John Tavener. Saint George’s Choir is an integral part of parish life, singing for requiems and, on occasion, weddings.

Each Sunday, the choir sings a different setting of the Mass and a Communion motet, in addition to the weekly round of plainsong psalms and hymns. The choir also sings for major feast days like Epiphany or All Saints’ Day. Choral Evensong is held once a month from October to May, and in the appropriate seasons the choir sings an Advent Lessons & Carols Service and a Nine Lessons & Carols service for Christmas.

The choir rehearses on Thursdays from 7:30-9:30pm, and on Sunday mornings before choral worship, 9:30-10:30am.

Please contact Garth MacPhee or call 421-1705 for audition information.
